10 guiding principles for achieving Library2.0 nirvana

  1. Better late than never.
  2. Don’t reject a minor improvement because you’re waiting for a hypothetical perfect solution to arrive.
  3. If you love your data, set them free.
  4. If it needs a help guide, you’ve probably got it wrong.
  5. If you assume your users are stupid, they won’t disappoint.
  6. RSS is non-negotiable.
  7. The ‘net interprets control as damage, and routes around it.
  8. Do it, then ask people what they think. Not the other way round.
  9. Show me pictures, or it didn’t happen.
  10. The answer to “…is Library2.0 about technology or not?” is “Mu“.

  1. So true! I work for a careers information service, but it all applies to us too. I wish all our staff could take on board points 2, 4, 6 oh and 8. Well all of the points really!
